                    Why The Glebe
Mountain Group is Against This Wind Project |

                | First
and foremost, GMG is against this project because it is a
use of our ridgeline that flies in the face of thirty years
of Act 250 land-use protection, made possible by the utility
law (VSA 30 Section 248) which never contemplated such a
site for electrical generation. Second, we are against
this because what seems like a benefit – Vermont based non-polluting electric power – would
be sold outside the region, fails to provide a reliable
base load power source, fails to provide meaningful municipal
taxes, fails to provide turbine lease income to Vermonters,
yet DOES provide 24 hour a day flashing lights, impacts
birds and mammals and their habitat, impacts water sources,
impacts the reliability of the interconnection system,
and adds higher ambient noise levels to the immediate area,
plus indeterminate impacts on aesthetics and property values.    | Descriptions
